Veteris Fallen was one of Mille Fleurs' three founding fathers, along with Paris Troy and Jon Smith Tricou. Nothing meant more to Veteris than his family, the entirety of which lived under one roof, the Borderstone Mansion on the coast.
Veteris grew up in the town of Riverview with his immediate family. As a teen, he dated Amare Running and was best friends with Paris and Jon. He discovered the island as a young adult, and convinced Amare to move there with him.
Veteris's problems started when he discovered that his wife Amare had been cheating on him. They were seperated for one year, while sixteen-year-old Caelum and fourteen year old Anima were shuffled between houses. When Veteris finally made up with Amare, they moved back together, and, even though she was Romance-oriented, she vowed to be faithful. However, their new-found happiness was short lived when Amare fell ill three months later, and died shortly thereafter. The loss of the lovely Amare was almost too much for Veteris, but he held on.
When it came time for his sons to marry, Veteris gave them little nudges in the right direction. aelum married the beautiful (and fabulously wealthy!) Hira Chandler. But Anima, however, married the Vampiress Contessa Heather Nox, one of the Vampire cult leaders. Veteris was enraged, and did NOT approve of their unity. Despite Veteris's disapproval, Anima and Heather had a daughter, Fortuna. Veteris loved Fortuna, but hated she who had birthed her. Eventually, though, he came to at least accept Heather.
Eventually, Anima was bitten by Heather, becoming a Vampire himself. That was enough for Veteris, but he decided to keep calm this time. One night, he slipped Vampirocillin into the dinner. Anima and Heather, upon eating it, fell into violent spasms. Thinking there was something wrong with the food, Kerah (Hira's sister) left immediately. Heather and Anima eventually recovered, but lost their vampirism. Enraged, Heather attacked Veteris, and Anima insulted him, calling him a coward. Anima and his family left as well, and Veteris just couldn't take it anymore. The stress of his family breaking down led to a blood clot, killing him a week later.
