Part eight begins with Alton seeing Armand and Elsie eating lunch in town. He then goes up to Armand and tells him about Chip and how Charis may be in danger. To Alton's shock, Armand expresses no concern for his sister and claims she will wind up hurting Chip more than he will hurt her. He then goes back to see Wilhelmina who refuses to speak to Alton about Chip.
Geronte thanks his sister and brother-in-law for allowing he and Anca to stay with them. Reed is happy for Pru and Geronte but expresses his concern that if Paris finds them they can be in a lot of trouble. Regan is shocked by the news that he and Gal are going to be parents. Guy then struggles to decide if he should tell his sister the truth, with a baby on the way. Marlo struggles as well with the news.
Neve then tells Karina that she thinks that Alton still has feelings for Charis. Karina does her best to comfort her. Vera then moves on in her life. She and Beck end things on good terms. Charis thinks Chip is acting strangely as he begins pushing them to leave for their honeymoon early. Regan then decides he needs to tell Gal the truth. However, as he approaches his wife she tells him she has bad news, Paula has died.
