Muriel Schwann (nee Quarren) is a sim in the town of Pineview. She is not present in the beginning as her parents are children. She is born later to Harvey Quarren and Sharon Quarren. She has a twin brother, Martin. Later her mother would give birth to her sister, Zelda. When Muriel becomes a child she quickly grows to like her Aunt Blanche Quarren.
During her child-age she grows to hate her parents and wishes to move in with Blanche. Sharon and Harvey allow her too and Blanche agrees. However, Muriel becomes too much for the independant Blanche and on the night of Melissa's opeing and Clara's fire Blanche announces tht she will be leaving Pineview and that Muriel will be going home with her parents.
Blanche does leave, but returns at the beginning of The Next Generation. However, Blanche is pregnant, this makes Muriel upset. When Blanche gives birth to her cousin, Rosalyn. Muriel quickly grows to hate her. Muriel appears to be cold and distant as she posses the Evil trait. Un-like her twin brother, Martin she looks at the world as a dark place.
She is un-aware that Jacque Schwannhas a crush on her. When he finally gets the courage to ask her out, she accepts. They begin to date, even going on a double date with Martin and Roger.
She attends her brothers commitment ceremony. When they become young adult she and Jacque continue dating.

When the stories resume, 3 years later it is revealed that Muriel accepted Jacque's proposal and the two have married. Their marriage, however, is far from perfect. She and Jacque constantly argue. Muriel then discovers that she is pregnant, something she never wanted to happen. She blames Jacque for her pregnancy and divorces him. Days later she gives birth to their daughter, Susanna. She finds life, alone, with a child difficult but adapts. She then begins to miss Jacque and wishes to get back together with him, but her pride gets in the way. She then embarks upon her life as a single parent...
