The Sims is a video game series developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is one of the most successful video games series of all time. As of April 16, 2008, the franchise has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, and as of March 19, 2008, is the best-selling PC franchise in history.

The games in The Sims series lack any defined goals. In the games, you create virtual people called "Sims" and place them in houses and can direct their moods and satisfy their desires. You can either place your Sims in pre-constructed homes or build your own houses. Some games also have expansion packs that contain more objects and Sims.
